Excuse me for taking a while. There's online info but I'm sure there are elders in your area so ask around. Today, March 1 commemorates the Battle of Adwa and is celebrated in rastafari communitites worldwide. Read up on it. 1896 battle in which Italy was defeated by Ethiopia the first time. Emperor Menelik and Empress Taitu were on the throne at the time. Emperor Menelik is HIM Haile Selassie I uncle on his fathers side and the first king to begin modernization of Ethiopia....

Hi

Greetings, thanks very much. Ok im not worried anymore. I will also keep my tatoo covered. and yes seeking guidance is a very great idea. does anyone have any links on teachings? I youtube mutaburaka's interviews on rastafari livity, and so far have been very enlightened and contented. also have a question on locs. Is it considered wrong to go to a salon (hairdresser) to start forming them? or would dat be considered a western culture?

Yes Princess,I'm either the best or worst person to ask. I've been in this livity 20 years now, i design jewelry and sometimes work as a stylist for fashion shows. My first response is to communicate with His Majesty and let your conscience be your guide. The modesty you show in your own dress will probably start to reflect in your clothes you design, and while earrings are permitted ( depending on who you ask) excessive jewelry isn't recommended at gatherings. As far as the tattoos, its there already.I have two which I keep covered, and I don't plan on getting any more. The Bible speaks against marking your body, but whats done is done. just move forward.

Greetings,
sis Montez. The response is great. I am humbled by the love and guidance. Yes i have many questions. Firstly I am a jewelry designer and into the fashion field. Is it considered a disrespect or breaking of the rastafari movement if i design western culture pieces. I am not sure how to explain it, but i know jewelry is allowed . My ears have been pierced since birth, is it wrong to wear earrings?? and i had a tattoo of my sons name 3 years ago , would i be considered of no standard for these things?

Greetings,
Are there any specifics that you have questions about. I can do my best to answer or just reason if you like. His Majesty bless and protect!

Hello,

My name is Shari Osborne, from St.Vincent & the Grenadines. I am interested in finding out teachings and advice on how i shold proceed into Nyahbinghi houses.
Are there any in St.Vincent and how can i be a part of a group . My kingman is a rasta, but i have slowly been transitioning into the livity and i need teaching to begin my new way of life.

Thanks very much
Shari
